O-ring storage conditions

O-rings are affected by various external environmental factors, such as distortion, oxygen, ozone, light, heat, humidity, oil, or chemical solvents. O-rings may be affected by their physical and chemical properties. Change and fail. In DIN7716, ISO2230, DIN9088 and other standards, basic regulations for the storage, cleaning and maintenance of rubber seals are made.

1: Temperature: 5-25℃ is the ideal storage temperature. Avoid contact with heat sources and sunlight. The seals taken out from the low-temperature storage state should be placed in an environment of 20°C before use.

2: Humidity: The relative humidity of the warehouse should be less than 70%, avoid excessive humidity or excessive dryness, and no condensation.

3: Light: Avoid sunlight and strong artificial light sources containing ultraviolet rays. UV-resistant packaging bags provide the best protection. It is recommended to apply red or orange paint or film on the windows of the warehouse.

4 Radiation: Avoid damage to seals caused by ionizing radiation.

5 Oxygen and ozone: Rubber materials should be avoided from being exposed to circulating air. This can be achieved by packaging, wrapping, storing in airtight containers or other suitable methods. Ozone is harmful to most elastomers. Avoid the following equipment in the warehouse: mercury vapor lamps, high-voltage electrical equipment, motors and other equipment.

6 Deformation: Rubber parts should be placed in a free state as much as possible to avoid stretching, compression or other deformation.

7 Contact with liquid or semi-solid materials: Do not contact with solvents, oils, greases or other semi-solid materials.

8 Contact with metal or non-metal materials: It is not allowed to contact magnetic materials, cast iron, copper and its alloys, or materials that can damage rubber. PVC materials cannot be used to pack the seals. Seals of different materials cannot be mixed.

9 Cleaning: If necessary, you can use soap and water to clean the seals. However, water should not contact fiber reinforced seals, rubber metal bonded seals, and AU material seals. Disinfectants, organic solvents and tools with sharp edges shall not be used. The cleaned seals should be dried at room temperature and not close to the heat source.
